GLASSWORK ARTIST

To put it mildly, I am passionate about my work. I have a tremendous need to express myself and my life experiences through a tangible medium, for me this medium is glass. When working it is not just me and the materials involved, but also the element of light. There is something mysterious and thrilling in the way natural or even artificial light gives life to the piece and enhances its meaning. Inspiration is either a flash or a flow, one idea leading to another; some linger in my mind for years before I find a way to express them. The slow work process itself is like active meditation during which I am open to new ideas.

My window work, inspired by the brilliant light and strong colours of Brazil, is made with glass and transparent semi-precious stones. I also use non-transparent materials (pearl, shell, zirconia, fossil and others) to create work intended for wall hanging.
