I was born in Finland and earned a Master’s Degree in English Philology from the University of Turku. Since 1980 my husband’s work has taken us to live in various countries on four continents, including Brazil where our son was born in 1988. After long stays in the US and England we have now returned to Brazil where we live in the Mantigueira mountain region between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Despite the long distances I still continue to exhibit in Europe and in the US.

I started working with glass while living in Florida where I studied with the late Brian Rowe in Miami and have been a full time glasswork artist since 1995.

My work has been sold and privately commissioned in Finland, England, Norway, France, Denmark, Spain, Brazil, USA, Hong Kong, Australia and Saudi Arabia.

"Through an individual technique with a predominance of glass Eva Rossi creates her art achieving truly unusual results.

Born in the liberty of a real artistic passion and through the choise of themes the work transforms itself into an immediate and efficient message. The value of Eva Rossi´s art comes from the part which is the most intimate and most hidden, most improvised and most sincere. Not only is the work about about art but also about an independent and free cry of her real truth.

In effect there is no real difference between her more informal work and work that depicts more realistic subjects. Eva Rossi´s creativity is born in her true interior, thus it is not reproductive or imitative.

Within the darkness of the majority of her creations, a magic luminosity is reflected through the multicoloured pieces of glass she uses in her work."
